Gmail messages are grouped together by subject

By default, Gmail will combine email and group messages by topic (or subject).

If you find this view hard to work with you can turn this setting off and separate the individual messages and replies.

Click  (the gear icon)

Select SETTINGS from the drop down list

on the GENERAL tab, find the Conversation View group and turn the setting OFF

Scroll to the bottom of the page and Click SAVE CHANGES
